The game of Bingo is definitely one of the most commonly played games at social gatherings and family get-togethers. However, not many people know that there are three different versions of bingo games. Yes, one of them is the 90 ball bingo, which is more popular in the European countries. The cards too look very dissimilar from the conventional 75 ball bingo, which is more popular in the United States and Canada. The history of 90 ball bingo games in the UK is as old as that of the 75 ball bingo. Apart from them, you may also come across the 80 ball bingo games, which is somewhat similar to the 90 ball bingo. The arrangement of cards in the 80 and 90 ball bingo is completely different to what is usually found in the 75 ball version.
So, first of all, let us know about the conventional 75 ball bingo game. In this game, the cards consist of 5 rows and 5 columns. The columns are usually topped by the letters B, I, N, G, and O. The numbers inscribed on the cards fall into the groups of 15. For instance, under the column B you will find numbers ranging from 1 to 15. The bingo balls generally contain both the number and letter and the recognizable call "under the I, sixteen" can be heard during the game in bingo halls.
On the other hand, 80 and 90 ball bingo gained popularity in the United Kingdom and are gradually spreading their wings across the regions of North America. Both 80 and 90 ball bingo are offered in most of the UK casinos, but the latter one is more easily available. The presence of rectangular bingo cards in the 90 ball bingo makes it different from the 75 ball version; the former incorporates 3 rows & 9 columns, while the latter includes 5 rows & 5 columns. However, in 90 ball bingo only five numbers per row are allowed. Without any doubt, it can look weird to the lovers of 75 ball bingo games.
The 80 ball version of bingo games is quite similar to the conventional 75 ball bingo. The only difference that you will find between them is that the 80 ball bingo is played on card with 4 rows and 4 columns. Each column contains number from the group of twenty, i.e. 1 to 20 (1st columns), 21 to 40 (2nd columns) and so on.
