It's a Done Deal: Baseball Trade Deadline 2011 and the Impact on Fantasy Baseball

Although it wasn't some of the most intense trading deadlines in recollection, July 31, 2011 came and went through a few trades of note. The baseball players that landed ~ward new teams no doubt want to conclude everything they can to prove their ~iness to a new team which valued their services enough to dealing away assets (read: young prospects). Of else importance to fantasy baseball owners is the show fantasy impact these trades may require on the players switching teams. In adding, it is important to also weigh the indirect fantasy impact these trades may be under the necessity on the new players around them or others left back in the deals. Some trades of account include:

 

Ubaldo Jimenez Trade –

The Cleveland Indians acquired RHP Jimenez  in change for RHP Alex White, RHP Joseph Gardner, Utility gambler  Matt McBride and a player to have existence named later from the Colorado Rockies.

Direct Fantasy Impact:

Jimenez goes from pitching in the smite's haven of Coors Field without circumlocution into a pennant race in the unlikeliest of places. Leaving the Rockies home park be possible to only help but this will exist offset by the DH and the smaller globe parks in the AL. Jimenez pitched very well in the first half of 2010 boundary has been average ever since. He may examine an additional win or two below the horizon the stretch but his peripheral stats enjoin not inspire much awe.

Indirect Fantasy Impact:

 If Jimenez have power to make eat up some innings it may measure a few more save chances as being Chris Perez. Back in Colorado, haply a young pitcher like Juan Nicasio may finish a chance to prove himself at the swelling league level.
